Arrowhead • Gill Cattle was proud to support a local agricultural education project involving the redevelopment of donated agricultural property for future student and community use.
As part of the project, our team provided specialized orchard removal equipment and operational support to assist with site preparation and land clearing efforts across the property. The project involved large-scale orchard removal operations designed to help prepare the site for future agricultural education, outdoor learning opportunities, and long-term land development initiatives.
Supporting agriculture, land stewardship, and future generations entering the agricultural industry remains an important part of our company’s long-standing connection to California’s farming communities.

Arrowhead & CAL Fire Rush to Fix Levee Breach
During the March 2023 Central Valley flooding events, Arrowhead • Gill Cattle supported emergency levee repair operations alongside CAL FIRE after a breach along Deer Creek drainage near Avenue 56 west of Road 88 threatened nearby agricultural properties and surrounding communities within Tulare County, California.
Operating under rapidly changing field conditions, our team assisted with emergency heavy equipment support operations aimed at helping stabilize the affected area and support ongoing flood response efforts impacting the Allensworth and Alpaugh regions.
Projects and emergency-related operations such as these highlight the importance of experienced field personnel, reliable heavy equipment, and the ability to operate efficiently across demanding terrain and time-sensitive conditions throughout California and beyond.

The program is designed to assist growers transitioning away from traditional agricultural open burning through alternative orchard and vineyard removal methods, including on-site processing and soil incorporation operations.

CARB Approves Plan to Phase Out Agricultural Burning in the Central Valley by 2025
On February 25, 2021, the California Air Resources Board (CARB) unanimously approved a plan to phase out agricultural burning in the San Joaquin Valley by January 1, 2025.
Arrowhead • Gill Cattle works alongside the San Joaquin Valley Air Pollution Control District (SJVAPCD) and evolving CARB agricultural burn reduction initiatives to help growers transition toward alternative orchard and vineyard removal methods. Our Whole Orchard Recycling and on-site processing services provide growers with an efficient alternative to traditional ag-burning while supporting long-term soil management and field preparation goals.
Eligible projects may qualify for available SJVAPCD Agricultural Burn Alternatives Grant Program funding opportunities designed to assist growers with the transition away from agricultural burning throughout the Central Valley.

Creek Fire Update
CAL FIRE shared on ABC30 tonight that fuel breaks funded through Governor Newsom’s wildfire prevention initiatives have helped slow the spread of the Creek Fire near Shaver Lake, California.
In 2019, Arrowhead worked alongside CAL FIRE and the U.S. Forest Service on the Shaver Springs Emergency Fuel Break project near the Shaver Springs community. Projects like these play an important role in helping protect forest communities, improve emergency access, and support wildfire mitigation efforts throughout California’s mountain regions.
Our thoughts remain with the communities impacted by the Creek Fire, along with all of the firefighters, first responders, and personnel continuing to work on the incident.
